Job Summary: The Specialist lll- Aviation Maintenance is knowledgeable in all areas ofFFA Guidelines for the program by adhering to the department operation manual. The specialist lll will spend time keeping records of the following airframe licensing, powerplant licensing, grade oversight and exam tracking, student missed time management, graduation auditing, assisting Faculty, Lab completion organization, TSA Badging training, Student assistant, scheduling, filing , assisting department coordinator writing revisions to the operational manual for the college FAA part 147 manual.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Assisting student recruitment, Pathways, GTI, ect
  • Record keeping, filing, airframe licensing, power plant licensing,
  • .Correspond and communicate with a variety of persons through letters, email, phone and in person contact.
  • Various other duties.




  • Follows instructions of Coordinator and assists other Faculty members in performing clerical functions.
  • Assists in the training of Faculty members. Ensures communication among shifts.
  • Provides an outstanding student experience by using consultative skills to anticipate student needs, suggest alternatives, and find solutions to meet student needs.



Willingness to help students and faculty when asked.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued: Follows instructions of Coordinator and assists other Faculty members in performing clerical functions. Assists in the training of Faculty members. Ensures communication among shifts. Provides an outstanding student experience by using consultative skills to anticipate student needs, suggest alternatives, and find solutions to meet student needs.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent education.
  • Two years of Sectoral duties





Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a busy and complex environment One year post high school education Some college One-year full-time office, reception, or customer service experience; experience working with confidential information; familiarity with SLCC a plus. Experience in BANNER database preferred. Expert telephone etiquette. Expert customer service skills. Expert in basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office (Word, Publisher, PowerPoint) and Outlook. Strong applicants are engaging, fun, and willing to collaborate in a fast-paced, team-centered environment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Excellent verbal and Witten communication skills Knowledge of SLCC policy and procedures for admission; registration; knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel). Excellent interpersonal skills, (customer service, written and oral communication). Adaptable to frequent change, function well in high-stress environment. Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities.
