Description

Scheduling maintenance tasks, supervising technicians, and responding to maintenance emergencies.

Hire, train, and develop maintenance technicians, working to keep a positive team-oriented environment focused on delivering high quality, safe, and efficient maintenance service.

Conduct quality control reviews to ensure timely and effective performance and proper use of resources by technicians and vendors.

Source and select contractors including obtaining quotations, scheduling preventative Maintenance contracts, scheduling repairs, and follow ups for:

o Carpentry, campus fencing, masonry/tuck pointing, roofing, abatements, elevators, food service equipment, ADA operators, lift services, overhead doors, and roll down fire doors.

Manage logistics support needed to maintain and accomplish repairs and renovations to all academic, administrative, residence halls and other facilities

Ensure University facility standards of conduct are enforced.

Provide performance reviews of facilities maintenance technicians.

Managing, facilitating, assigning, and reviewing work orders through our facility maintenance software on a daily basis.

Create, maintain, and manage records on fixed asset expenditures

Reviews and approves invoices and requisitions.

Create project work scopes for building maintenance projects.

Manage locks/door hardware and key management system.

Understand, interpret, and apply all pertinent laws, codes, regulations, policies, and procedures such as OSHA and EPA regulations.

Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree preferred

High School Diploma/GED required

5 years of experience in campus facilities management preferred

5 years minimum of progressively responsible experience in the management of the installation, construction, and maintenance of equipment, utilities, and buildings

3-5 years of experience in the construction trades preferred

3-5 years of personnel supervisory experience preferred

Management and administrative skills, particularly the ability to analyze, organize and delegate, are required. Working familiarity with standard building codes

Human Relations Skills

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse constituencies (internal and external)

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, ability, socio-economic background, or job type

Technology Skills

PC proficient; experience with Office 365 preferred

Advanced understanding of Word, Excel, and Power Point

Working knowledge and proficiency with maintenance management system preferred

Physical Demands

Ability to stoop, kneel, reach, and inspect work sites.

Sufficient strength and dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities of the position

Job requires the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 100 pounds or heavier weights with assistance and/or the use of proper equipment.

Environmental Elements

Work in both indoor and outdoor environments with moderate to loud noise levels.

May work in controlled temperature conditions, cold and hot temperatures, or inclement weather conditions.

Exposure to chemicals, mechanical and electrical hazards, and hazardous physical substances and fumes.

Will interact with individuals in interpreting and enforcing rules, policies, and procedures.

Other Requirements

Must have valid driver's license and be insurable under the university's insurance plan.

Shift changes and/or weekend work may be required by your supervisor based on departmental and University needs
